Nearby Healdsburg offers fine dining, trendy shops, and gorgeous wine tasting rooms. Most of the action is centered around the lush and airy town square in downtown Healdsburg. Drive 10 miles west of Nick’s Nest on River Road towards the Pacific Ocean to discover fun and quirky Guerneville. Summer vacationers have been coming to this charming enclave for more than 100 years. Antique shops can be found here and further west in Duncan Mills. Continue to the ocean and discover Bodega Bay and Jenner, beach communities with shops, restaurants, and spectacular ocean views around every corner. Sebastopol, located 10 miles to the south of Nick’s Nest, is a town of adorable, well-kept houses with lots of restaurants and organic groceries, including the closest Whole Foods Market. Santa Rosa to the east has a large selection of stores and several large movie theaters.
Hike among the mighty redwoods in Armstrong Redwoods State Park. Play golf at any number of local courses, including Northwood Golf Club, Bodega Harbour, and Sea Ranch Golf Links. Go biking, canoeing, horseback riding, even hot air ballooning — all available nearby.
