Situated on famed Westside Road, Nick’s Nest is perched above the Russian River with easy access to a private beach. It is surrounded by a great redwood fence for privacy. Built in the 1930s, the house retains its rustic look on the outside with the original redwood logs. The inside, however, has been exquisitely updated with modern flair, inspired Craftsman details, and a hint of the Far East. The minimalist decor only adds to the romantic and spacious feel.

Walk out the large sliding doors to a perfect redwood deck high above it all. Lounge and survey the Russian River. Hawks and swifts circle overhead in the late afternoon as you enjoy the views, the warm breeze, and each other’s company. Hummingbirds, woodpeckers, orioles, and jays nestle in the half acre of redwoods, maple and old-growth oak trees on the property.

You are right where you need to be to enjoy the best of California: sun, water, and wine. Some of the best wines in the world are made right here in Sonoma county. And a great number of wineries happen to sit right on Westside Road. You can spend an afternoon exploring this famous “wine trail” between Forestville and Healdsburg. Other destinations such as Alexander Valley and Dry Creek Valley beckon as well.

If you want to simply enjoy the Russian River, you can spend the day lazing on your own private beach. There is easy beach access at the side of the house, as well as beach chairs, towels, and inner tubes for you to enjoy.
